Anonymous Jumps Ship
It's official: WOT critic and former head of the CIA's bin Laden unit, Michael Scheuer, a/k/a Anonymous, has jumped ship. In a scathing press release excerpted here, he says that:
I have concluded that there has not been adequate national debate over the nature of the threat posed by Osama bin Laden and the forces he leads and inspires, and the nature and dimensions of the intelligence reform needed to address that threat.
He goes on to say that in the immediate future, he intends to work to produce "a more substantive debate." He's giving an interview to 60 Minutes on Sunday, for which I might just have to find a TV to tune into.
There are going to be some fascinating developments on this front in the near future. Stay tuned.
Update: Apparently the CIA rather forced his hand.
Do you have contact information for Michael Scheuer? I would like to invivte him for a homeland security speaking engagement
